Flekt: Taking Your Pop-Up Flash to the Next Level

Hate the way your camera pop-up flash makes your images look? don’t want those washed out colors and harsh shadows in your portraits? a new kickstarter project calledĀ Flekt tries to change all of that.

Flekt attaches to your DSLR Ā hot-shoe, and redirects the light from the pop-up flash back into a reflector (and in the future to different types of reflectors). The light from the (rather large) reflector is better distributed and creates far less harsh shadows on your subject.

Photographer Preston Vance from California who created theĀ Flekt created a Kickstarter project looking to raise $70k (so far almost $20k have been raised in a very short time). You can order one for yourself for $65Ā (more info can be found on theĀ flektsystem website).
