A Look at Pro USB Microphones

USB microphones are not typically considered photography equipment or even basic accessories for a photographer, however in today’s online world more and more photographers use them for their daily work as well as for recording video blogs and podcasts.

Rob Rives from B&H did a quick look at 5 different USB microphones:

  •  Rode NT-USB USB Microphone – $170 on B&H.
  •  Audio-Technica AT2020USB+ Cardioid Condenser USB Microphone – $170 on B&H.
  •  Apogee Electronics MiC 96k USB Microphone for Mac & iOS Devices with Lightning Cable – $230 on B&H.
  •  sE Electronics sE X1 USB Large Diaphragm Condenser USB Microphone – $300 on B&H.

We found it somewhat surprising that the guys at B&H did not include any microphone from Blue Microphones on this list as the Yeti and more recently the Yeti Pro are considered some of the best in their class (and our personal favorite with a built in XLR which makes it super useful). This is especially strange as B&H already did a longer video on the Yeti Pro which you can see below:

The Yeti Pro cost $220 on B&h.
