SIGMA 150-600 F5-6.3 DG OS HSM – Splash and Dust Proof Testing

Well, this is both interesting and confusing at the same time – Sigma introduced two almost identical lenses this week – SIGMA 150-600 F5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Sports and the SIGMA 150-600 F5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Contemporary. The company also released a new 18-300mm F3.5-6.3 DC MACRO OS HSM | Contemporary zoom lens and two teleconverters (1.4x and 2x) as well as new filters.

So why did Sigma introduced 2 lenses that have the same focal length and aperture? The short answer is that we don’t really know, but our best guess is that the company wanted to create a version for the majority of users (from the Contemporary  series) which will be lighter and cheaper and an advanced, higher quality one (with significantly more weight and price).
