Simple DIY Ring Light (+ Tips for Adding Music to your Videos)

On this video, Ryan Connolly from Film Riot  takes take a look at two interesting topics – the first is a simple inexpensive way to create a DIY ring light (or almost any type of light using LEDs) and the other has to do with some good places to get high quality audio for your videos.

We shall start with the LED lights. Connolly basically uses the ​MOSAIC Flexible Light which you can buy in Amazon for about $52. Do notice that not all of the colors are good for shooting video (as some of them flicker, but there are at least a few that do seems to work fine according to Connolly). You can use these highly flexible small lights on almost anything. Connolly used them on a frisbee but you can connect them to almost anything (they have stick surface on the other side.

The second part of this video talks about audio and specifically music that you can buy for your videos and use for more serious projects (we are talking pro level music). Connolly mentions 4 sources he uses (the first on this list is part of his business):
