On this video, photographer, and videographer Caleb Pike from DSLR Video Shooter takes a look at the Switronix Powerbase 70 which is a useful external battery option for the Sony A7 family and the GH4 as well as other cameras.
Pike starts by talking about the battery itself which you can use with your camera. This is the low-cost option – it will last you for a long long time and cost between $300 and $345 depending on your system (Panasonic GH3/GH4, Sony A7, Canon cameras, and even Blackmagic). You can find all options on B&H here.
The other option is to plug a v-mount plate into your camera and swap out batteries and power multiple accessories with your Powerbase 70 easily. Pike has links to all the different versions on his blog.
Pike recently had a video which we posted here as well entitled “How to Power Your Canon DSLR for a Full Day for Under $150“. You might also find the new (upcoming) “Atomos Power station” pretty interesting” (we know that we did).
