Swiss photographer and Nikon Ambassador Daisy Gilardini isn’t afraid of bears. These animals are a big part of what attracts her as a photographer and on this video she tells the story of her voyage to look for the elusive spirit bear.
So what is the spirit bear? the spirit bear is not a myth but an actual North American Black Bear with a genetic mutation making it white. the spirit bear is very rare – only a couple of thousands are left in the world and for a nature photographer catching one in its natural environment can be the holy grail of their career.
On this beautiful video Gilardini talks about her experience of shooting the spirit bear with some amazing images. She also wants to convey a message against the destruction of the bear natural habitation in North America which might reduce the already tiny population of the spirit bear.
