Patrick Rochon: Light Painting KATA

This video created by photographer and light painting specialist Patrick Rochon focus on movement and in particular the movement of  the Japanese martial art known as KATA.

As Rochon write: “Getting to the essence of what I do, I now understand that light painting is above all, movement. It is to me a mix of dancing and martial arts. Light moves everywhere all the time. Our bodies are emitting light and expressing something subtle but important. We must see it and understand it. We must reveal it’s secrets and knowledge. I believe it is a key connected to our consciousness”.

We have recently published a special documentary by PBS on photographers Patrick Rochon and Aurora Crowley – both are master light painters and you can see some of their other works and techniques on the video.
