How to Add Clouds to a Sky of Your Image in Photoshop

On this video tutorial Aaron Nace from Phlearn demonstrates how to add clouds to the sky of an image in Photoshop and how to make them look realistic.

You might not care much for adding clouds to your images, but if you have even a small interest in creating composite images in Photoshop this tutorial is going to help you a lot. The first step is to select the skies in your image and the next step is going to create a layer mask (and unlink it so you can play with the layer and play with it).

Now we need to make those clouds look more realistic – like they actually where shoot with the house in the image. This requires you to match the colors between the two images/layers. To do this we use a selective color layer (and add a clipping mask so it will only effect the skies).

This is far from the first time that we are looking into compositing in Photoshop (and not even the first time Nace has been doing a video on this subject) – you can check out some other videos on compositing images here.
