Comprehensive introduction to Lightroom Mobile (and Lightroom 5.4)

Earlier today Adobe released several new pieces of software including an update to Camera RAW (version 8.4), a new version of Lightroom (version 5.4) and a completely new application for iPhone and iPad called Lightroom Mobile (or LTM for short).

Lets start with the Camera RAW and Lightroom 5.4 – both of these has mostly new camera RAW supports  (and some bug fixes for Lightroom) including the new Fujifilm X-T1, Nikon D4S and more. The second new thing for Lightroom 5.4 is support for Lightroom mobile.

You can download the new Lightroom 5.4 – for PC or MAC from the Adobe website. The new Camera RAW is also available from the Adobe site or directly from the Photoshop software (help>updates).

Now on to the more interesting announcement – the new Lightroom mobile. This app – currently available only for iPhone/iPad (hopefully later this year for Android devices as well) will be part of the

You can download the Lightroom Mobile for free if you are already a member of the Creative Cloud photographers package (now available of under $10 a month).

We won’t go over all the features the new app has (we have all the videos in this post for that but here is a quick digest from Adobe’s blog:

  • Edit and organize images anywhere, anytime on your iPad*
  • Enhance everything from smartphone photos to raw images from DLSRs using powerful and familiar tools
  • Automatically sync all of your mobile edits with Lightroom 5 on your desktop
  • Easily share your photos

  1. Hi!! I am trying to connect Lightroom Mobile to my Canon 6D to download my pictures when I am away from my iMac. But I cannot make Lightroom sees my camera. Any help?
