If you are feeling a bit whimsical, this video by photoshop expert Howard Pinsky demonstrates how you can pimp up your logo (or even image) with some flames courtesy of the new flame filter added to the latest version of Photoshop CC.
Sometimes you just want to do something fun with your logo to make it look special – it can be Halloween or any other event but a few flames can look really cool if you place them correctly.
In this short tutorial, Pinsky explains how to use the new flame filter (under: filter>render>flame), but first you need to create a work path for your layer (preferably followed by another layer) like Pinsky demonstrates in the video – otherwise you won’t be able to use the flame filter.
At the second part of the video Pinsky also shows a really cool “bonus” of what you can do with the flame – by adding it to an image of a person running, you get the effect of a really fast movement very quickly (drawing a path with the pen tool – if you don’t know how to use this tool check out one of these videos).
Two minutes of work and you have a flaming logo
