How to Create Freckles in Photoshop

On this video Aaron Nace from Phlearn shows how to add freckles to an image using a custom brush in Photoshop.

To create the custom brush Nacew decided to use a photo of granite as the base for creating freckles. This might sounds a bit strange but the dots on the stone are very random and so perfect for using to recreate a natural look (rather than creating something on the computer which could look artificial).

Nace gives some interesting tips for creating the custom brush including making the edges of the image you use for the brush white so you will not get a square look when using your brush.

We have already look at using custom brushes and the clone stamp on a previous video by Nace entitled “How to Combine Brushes and Clone Stamp in Photoshop“.
