Quick Look at What’s New in Lightroom 5.7 and Camera Raw 8.7

Earlier today Adobe released a new version of Lightroom which brings a very long list of new cameras and lenses as well as some additional changes, updates and fixes.

On this video, Laura Shoe takes a look at a few new options in Lightroom 5.7 (especially the new share button and comments and how to use them). Note that you will need an Adobe account and cloud subscription to use these features.

Here is a list of changes in Camera Raw 8.7 which was launched alongside the new Lightroom and support the same cameras:

ACR 8.7 now supports HiDPI displays on Windows. To do this:

  • Go to Photoshop -> Preferences -> Experimental Features
  • Click on “Scaled UI 200% for high-density displays”

There is an even longer list of lenses which are now supported on Camera Raw 8.7 (you can read it all and download – on Adobe’s website).

Adobe also added support for Tethered Capture in Lightroom 5.7 for two Nikon cameras – the D4S and the D810. You can read all the changes and get a download link at the bottom of the page on Adobe’s website.

It is also worth noting that Apple also released a new version of its Camera RAW Compatibility (Update 6.01) which brings support to the following 4 cameras (download from here):
