Quick Tip: How to Brighten Eyes in B&W Photos Using Photoshop

On this video Photoshop senior product manager Bryan O’Neil Hughes gives a quick tip for brightening the eyes in B&W images using Adobe Photoshop.

Hughes creates a new layer by selecting just the eyes of his subject and than uses color dodge which will make the eyes pop but not too much (actually if they do seem too bright you can always control the effect using opacity). This is not the first time we look at techniques for brightening eyes in Photoshop – photographer Michael Woloszynowicz demonstrated his own version on “How To Brighten Eyes in Photoshop” and  Glyn Dewis has his own video on “How to Enhance Eyes (and Create realistic Beards) Using Photoshop“.
