10 Tips for Great Landscape Photography

What can you do to improve your landscape photography skills? The following video  (by Pocketstock Academy) has 10 useful tips for aspiring landscape photographers who are making their first steps.

There are lots of simple things that you can do to make an O.K. looking landscape image and turn it into an amazing one. Start by thinking at the composition and focal point and try to lead the viewer to where you want (you can do this using a road or a stream or any other distinctive element), be sure to use a tripod whenever possible (landscape images are usually not taken in a rush and a tripod help you focus on composition as well as keep your camera stabilized), consider lighting conditions (where is the sun at the time you are shooting and is this the right lighting you want for your image – or maybe you better wait for dusk or even come back the next dawn).

Try to avoid things which are distracting in an image (a tree branch which is stuck in the frame for example). Location, location, location – try and find the best location and best angle for your shot and finally take your time, plan, get the right settings and don’t be afraid to try different things.
