On this Canon video, part of the “Canon EOS HD Video Tutorials”, Jem Schofield talks to cinematographer Angus Oborn and look at how to correctly white balance your camera for video footage.
Setting white balance correctly can save you some work in post production and is part of the professional technique used in most video productions. As Schofield explains it using auto white balance is not a good idea as it is unpredictable. Setting your white balance manually using exact Kelvin temperatures or even more accurately using custom white balance and a white card.
We already covered the topic of white balance in two previous videos – “Understanding White Balance” with Jesse Garrison from Canon and “How to Manually White-Balance Your Camera” with Richard Harrington.
