On this video photographer Tamara Lackey talks to Dallas-based fashion photographer and Nikon ambassador Dixie Dixon about getting into the fashion industry, some of the hard work required and how to succeed.
Dixon talks openly about the hardships of becoming successful fashion photographer. The industry is dependent on personal connections and getting the right connections can be difficult even for the more experienced photographers – let alone for beginners (Dixon mentions that she cold calls people and expect about 1 in 20 return calls).
