On this B&H video, veteran documentary photographer Mel DiGiacomo, discuss his journalistic approach to shooting weddings.
DiGiacomo’s approach to shooting weddings is based on capturing reality as much as possible. instead of making your bride and groom pose, having the family smile for the photographer, he is looking to capture authentic moments.
This isn’t anything new of course and some wedding photographers have been using this approach for years but for many clients this might not be right or at least not enough. This is why this approach can be combined with the more traditional way of shooting a wedding.
We have covered wedding photography quite extensively here on LensVid including “Tips for Shooting an Engagement Sessions”, The Iconic Bridal Portrait, How to Light a Wedding Reception, as well as Efficiency Tips for the wedding photographer, How to Prepares For An Engagement Session Shoot, How to Pose for a Photoshoot: Posing a Bride and more recently “Wedding Photography: How to Create Your Own Style“.
