How to Shoot a Documentary Style Interview

In this video, photographer Jay P. Morgan from the website the Slanted Lens demonstrates how to shoot a simple 2 camera profile interview piece with a talent on location. This technique can be useful for a company profile, Kickstarter campaign, corporate video, documentary work etc.

Morgan discuss the position of the cameras and lights, choosing the location, shooting B-roll and creating an outline and questions for the interview. Although Morgan usually shoot with a crew of about 3 people, many times he has done the interviews alone with just a sound person and it’s very possible to shoot these alone.
