Samson C02 Condenser Microphone Review

On this video photographer, Curtis Judd takes a look at the Samson C02 microphone. This inexpensive mic might surprise you when it comes to recording indoor dialogue.

You would probably not expect too much out of a pair of two condenser microphones sold for just over a $100 but you might be pleasantly surprised – at least we were when listening to Judd’s video which was recorded using the mic.

The C02 Pencil Condenser Microphones by Samson have a super-cardioid pickup pattern, include gold-plated XLR connectors, and come in a case + shock-mounted mic clips – all for under $110 for a set of 2 (yes we were kind of surprised ourselves).

If you already have a good quality condenser microphone set you can get these as a backup or if you are on a budget they seem like a good place to start. If you are looking for something even more affordable – check out this review buy Judd and if you are on the look for a more professional set – this might be a good place to start.

You can check out more of Judd’s videos which focus mostly on audio and video here on LensVid, more photography gear guides can be found here as well, and finally, if you are into sound recording for video productions check out this link which covers both equipment and techniques here on LensVid.
