NAB 2014: Edelkrone Uncovers the “WING”

During the NAB 2014 show currently talking place in Las Vegas, the innovative Turkish manufacturer Edelkrone demonstrated a whole series of new products including a very exciting camera arm called WING.

The WING is a portable small unit with a one joint that can carry a camera (no information was given at this point about what king of weight will this device be able to support but the attached camera in the demonstration above was a blackmagic pocket camera).

The WING gives about 1 meter (around 40 inch) of movement and can be used in various ways to achieve side to side or back to front movement of the camera. From the looks of it, the motion seems very smooth and the main advantage seems to be  the size of the unit which is much smaller than comparable sliders.

Currently the WING is still a work in progress and will be ready later this year at an undisclosed price.

In the video (shot by our friends on cinema5d) we can also see some other new products such as a new camera skater unit – a tiny device which attaches to the bottom of the camera and opens into 3 wheels to create a skating motion without any extra devices. There is also a tiny slider and slider stands as well as another look at some of the company’s existing line of accessories and modules that goes alongside its SliderPlus and SliderPlus PRO.
