On this video photographer Curtis Judd decided to take a look at 3 different camera audio adapters – the JuicedLink Riggy Assist 222, the beachtek DXA-Micro Pro, and the Saramonic SR-PAX2.
All the audio in this video was recorded entirely with the 3 adapters along with a RODE NTG2 and Audio Technica AT4053b mics on a Nikon D750 with the gain set almost to off (one above) so the amplification will be done with the adapters.
It isn’t simple to choose betwern the three and Judd feels that each of them has its own place in the market. Actually out of the Saramonic which is the least expensive seems to have the best all around set of features including inputs and settings the only thing which you don’t get is a headphone sound level.
On LensVid we have a very extensive section devoted to sound recording for video productions which covers both equipment and techniques here on LensVid.
