A Look at the Isovox 2 Portable Vocal Booth

The Isovox 2 Portable Vocal Booth introduced earlier this year is a pretty interesting product which can let you record voice-overs (and basically anything else) even in noisy untreated environments.

Isovox 2 is an interesting product. There are all sorts of portable sound booths you can buy from different companies these days but this is probably one of the most unique since it gives you 360 degrees isolation from the environment.

From the reviews that we have seen so far the Isovox 2 is capable of reducing environmental sounds very well (we would still not record in the middle of a high traffic roadway but if you just need a way to record at a clients office or in an untreated hotel room – this can be an interesting option.

There are a few things to keep in mind though:

  1. the Isovox 2 is pretty large and heavy and you need enough space for the stand.
  2. The Isovox 2 only works with standing type mics and not shotgun mics as there simply isn’t enough room inside (although maybe you can rig something somehow).
  3. There is not a lot of room to put
  4. it can be a tad claustrophobic if you need to do long hours of voice-overs inside the unit.

As for pricing, the Isovox 2 sells for $1000.
