Fujifilm GFX 50R Preview

Photokina 2018 is here and we are in Germany at the show and we will bring you our own videos in the not to distant future (we are currently focused as making as many interviews and videos as we can). In the meantime, Chris and Jordan from DPR looked at a pre-production review of the new Fujifilm GFX 50R medium format camera.

There are some improvements from the older GFX 50S that includes a completely new design (more of a rangefinder) with a smaller body but with many of the same feature of the original camera (including the 51-megapixel sensor.

If you were wondering this isn’t a camera that you will want to shoot video with (soft image, 1080p with lots of issues) but it can be interesting for some on the go stills shooters. There is also a new roadmap that we hope to share with you later on (Chris mentions it in the video as well) but the most interesting thing announced from Fujifilm in Photokina is actually the future GFX 100 – an upcoming 100MP medium format camera that will shoot 4K and should have some pretty impressive features including on sensor AF and image stabilization.

The Fujifilm GFX 50R and the existing Fujifilm GFX 50S and above the future Fujifilm GFX 100
