Olympus announced today a new member of the PEN line of mirrorless cameras – the E-PL7 – a relatively minor update of the previous E-PL5 from 2012 with built in WIFI and a tilt screen for all those selfies.
No too much had changed in Olympus’ PEN light series with the introduction of the new E-PL7 – we still have the same micro 4/3 16MP CMOS sensor, the same TruePic VII processor and a very similar design but there are also a couple of improvements.
Olympus E-PL7 key features and improvements
- Sensor: 16MP M4/3 CMOS.
- Processor: TruePic VII
- Continuous shooting speed: 8 fps (much faster than before).
- LCD: Tilting 1.04M dot touchscreen.
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi + new app.
- New filters: including what seems to be an interesting partial color filter.
- Focus peaking
- stabilization: 3-axis’ image stabilizer (similar to that on the OM-D E-M10).
- Price: Just under $600 – body only on Amazon.
