Preview: Canon PowerShot G16 Camera First Look

Canon announced this morning the newest member of its advanced compact camera – G16. The new version brings some innovation mainly in areas related to speed – AF speed, shooting speed, processing sped and image transfer (via WIFI).

The video above is a quick preview of the new camera done by the magazine What Digital Camera.

Here is the list of features for the G16 camera:

  • 12MP back-illuminated CMOS (1/1.7 type).
  • 5x zoom lens – 28 – 140 mm (in 35mm equivalent) with f/1.8-2.8 aperture.
  • DIGIC 6 processor and up to ISO 12,800.
  • Intelligent IS with 5-axis Enhanced Dynamic IS for steady images/videos.
  • Fast performance AF.
  • Continuous shooting speed – up to 12.2 images per second for 5 images and (9.3fps sustained continuous shooting).
  • 3.0 inch PureColor II G LCD (922k) and  an optical viewfinder.
  • Expert control: Front Dial, Full Manual and RAW.
  • Full HD (1080p) at 60fps with stereo.
  • Built in WIFI and GPS via mobile.

The Canon PowerShot G16 is available for pre order for $550 in B&H.
