RigMount recently introduced a new approach to portable camera support for both photo and video cameras with its heavy duty industrial grade high-power rare-earth magnet mount which can easily be fitted to almost any car or other steel surface.
Until now if you wanted to connect your DSLR or GoPro to a moving car you would typically use strong suction cups (RigMount makes those as well) however they might loose their strength over time. The new high-power rare-earth magnetic mount on the other hand never loose its strength and from the videos at least, it seems extremely strong.
What surprised us is how easy it is to remove (you would think that such powerful magnets would stick and won’t budge in any event but just watch the end of the video below).

The RigMount magnetic camera mount isn’t very cheap but it is a professional tool and you can buy one from $225-$400 depending on the size and carrying capacity.
