Rosco just introduced the Silk 110 LED – a powerful new 1×1 LED with many improvements over some of the company’s existing lights.
We have just finished looking at the LitePad Vector by Rosco and apparently the company has been listening to many of our suggestions and released a new LED family of lights which seems to take care of some of the issues that we found on the older lights.
The new Silk 110 LEDs (part of a larger family with lights of different sizes and shapes) produces a high volume of light output at color temperatures ranging from 2800K – 6500K (a bit wider than the LitePad Vector in this respect).

The Silk 110 uses proprietary tungsten & daylight balanced LEDs with a broad-spectrum white light that features over 90 TLCI, CRI and R9 metrics for perfect colors with (according to Rosco) no correction in post-production.
The fixture comes with on-board dimming and color temperature controls for filmmakers to control the fixture on location, as well as DMX options for integration into broadcast studios. It ships with a 100 /240 AC power supply, enabling it for worldwide use, and V-Lock, Anton/Bauer and 4-Pin XLR input are available to ensure maximum portability.

A few things we noticed which are different than the LitePad Vector that we tested – the control dial is fully metal, the yoke has an angle and it has an on/off switch (which was annoyingly missing from the LitePad Vector). We could only wish it had WIFI/BT or remote control.
We are still trying to find the price but we shall update you as soon as we shall know (you can find out more on the Rosco website).
