Erik Valind – Up Close and Personal

In this extensive video interview, photographers Jay P. Morgan (from the Slanted Lens) talks to lifestyle and environmental portraiture photographer Erik Valind from N.Y.

Although he was exposed to photography from a very young age, Erik did not become a photographer early on but it became a passion and than a business gradually, beginning from taking pictures of family and friends and moving on to different types of professional shooting (anything from wedding to commercial work) with the main connecting line being his love for working and shooting people.

Morgan and Valind seem to agree in the interview that a lot of the commercial business these days gravitate towards the natural organic look (as opposed to a heavily artificially lit shots). Another thing that Morgan and Valind talk about is video and more generally how Valind conducts himself from a business standpoint towards his clients (which is always interesting to hear).

Recently we have published another interesting interview Morgan did this time with photographer Hernan Rodriguez and if you liked this interview you should definitely check out this one as well.
