If you are just getting into Premiere Pro you might be a bit overwhelmed. To help you get into the software Adobe’s Terry White shares several tips for beginners.
White is more known for his videos on Photoshop or Lightroom, but as a photographer he has been working with video and video editing for many years and so he decided to create a special video tutorial for people who have no experience with Premiere Pro CC and would like some initial tips.
The first tip White shares has to do with organizing your material for the video on your computer (even before you open Premiere Pro). Just putting all the different video files in one folder, the photos in another and the music in another folder. White has another good tip for getting royalty free music that does no violate copyrights – he suggest using a site called pond5.com.
Premiere Pro is pretty resource intensive so close any other programs you don’t use (you would like to run it on the fastest machine you have (video encoding is a very resource intensive task so keep that in mind).
From here on White goes into different tips on how to start editing your project, different frames rate, changing clips length, importing still images, add titles and music and even a bit of after effects segment.
