Airnef: Wi-Fi Image Transfer Desktop Software for Nikon Users

A new free desktop software (compatible with OS X, Windows and Linux) called Airnef was recently released and can help users download images from their camera to their computer wirelessly from supported Nikon (as well as some other) cameras using a simple interface.

So far there was no simple way to wirelessly transfer images to the computer from a Nikon camera using a Nikon software. As things happen in life, where there is a need there will be somebody that will come and try to solve it. In this case DPReview community member and forum moderator known as Horshack developed a novel software called Airnef which can allow users to download single or multiple images fairly easily from different supported Nikon cameras (including the D7200, D5500, D5300, D750 etc.).

Currently this is still a relatively early version (and there were some reports that the software is detected as malware by some anti-virus software – which is something the developer has been working on resolving with the anti-virus companies), others reported success (we have yet to try the software ourselves).

If you want to give it a go you can download it for free from this link.
