How to Create a Dust and Smoke Effect Brush in Photoshop

On this video photographer Glyn Dewis shows how to make a cool dust brush as part as a composition in Photoshop.

Dewis explains a bit of background on combining an object with the background (the feet of the raino with the ground in this case) but the main part of the tutorial is devoted to working with a brush (Dewis start with brush no. 45 in Photoshop as the basis for the dust). Dewis uses the brush panel to do all sorts of changes to the original brush in Photoshop to make it look closer to dust. Finally Dewis shows how to use the brush with the original image of the raino (by putting it behind the animal).
