Retouching Photos of elderly People in Photoshop

In this video, photographer Terry White shares some tips and insights into retouching images of older people using Photoshop.

White starts with some white balance in Camera Raw (as a filter in CC), the next and main step is getting rid of all the imperfections in the image (using the spot healing brush). This is done on a new layer  with the intention of reducing the opacity in the next level. As we have mentioned time and time again – reducing all the imperfections from a portrait nearly never looks realistic so reducing them but not eliminating them completely is the way to go.

We have looked at some more advanced methods for removing wrinkles in Photoshop on Aaron Nace’s video entitled simply :”How to Remove Wrinkles in Photoshop“ as well as a much shorter video entitled “Removing Wrinkles in Photoshop in Under 1 Minute” by  Howard Pinsky.
