Advanced Patch Tool with Content-Aware in Photoshop

On this video Photoshop expert Jesús Ramirez (from the Photoshop training channel) demonstrates advanced methods for using the patch tool with content aware to remove wrinkles and distracting elements from an image.

There are many ways to remove objects from the image. The patch tool is a very useful option and the content aware capability makes it even more powerful. Now the big “secret” here is to work none destructively by creating a new layer and making the patch tool (plus content aware) to it. Then you can play with the structure and color options to get the best result and use different blend modes (for example lighter color) and change the opacity – with all of these you can create a very optimized result.

Do note that you might need some extra work – such as removing shadows that are left in the image for example (just see Ramirez’ second example), but if you follow the simple steps that are in this video you will have a very powerful tool in your arsenal.

This video is one of Ramirez series of short content aware related tools in Photoshop, in the past few weeks we also published “Understanding the Content-Aware Move Tool in Photoshop” and “Advanced Content-Aware Scale in Photoshop“.
