Taking good care of your equipment is important if you want it to function properly for a long time. Canon decided tro help new photographers and make sure that they are keeping their gear correctly.
In the video above, Helen from Canon USA gives some tips and general guidelines on how to maintain and care for your photo equipment. Much of this stuff is pretty straightforward and most users will be doing that anyway but its always good to get a reminder.
We would also add to Helen’s recommendation a little one of our own that was not mentioned here – get a lens protector (filter) for each of your lenses – they don’t cost that much and will help keep your lenses free of scratches (and they are typically easier to clean as you can remove them – unlike the front element of your lens.
If you are feeling more confident about handling your equipment and maintaining it be sure to watch our guide on “How to Clean Your Camera Sensor” – just be careful – this can damage your camera if isn’t done properly.
