Canon Talks Single System Sound Recording

On this Canon video, part of the “Canon EOS HD Video Tutorials”, Jem Schofield talks to sound technician Tom Bergin looking at the basic concepts of recording sound for a video production.

Schofield and Bergin explain the concepts behind double system sound, single system sound and reference audio. They demonstrate how to configure the camera for recording sound, gain control, sound levels and several other modes (some of them are a bit different on different cameras).

Next Schofield and Bergin talk about external microphones, manual audio gain and how to configure this type of setup for the best audio quality.

We have a very extensive section devoted to sound recording for video production which covers both equipment and techniques  here on LensVid. You can find all of the Canon EOS HD Video Tutorials on our special section.
