Aputure Electro Storm CS15 and XT26, F14 Fresnel and Spotlight Max: First Look Ultra powerful lights and accesories form Aputrure

Aputure announced today a series of four new professional lighting products including two super high-power new single sources CS15 and XT26 both from a new line called Electro Storm with 1500W and 2600W output as well as a matching F14 Fresnel and Spotlight Max – Bowens Mount projection lens modifier for high powered lights.

a New level of Output: Aputure Electro Storm

Aputure’s most powerful light to date was the LS 1200d Pro but today’s announcement takes the company’s high-powered lights to a whole other level of output.

The new Aputure Electro Storm CS15 has 1500W of output which the company claims is comparable to an industry-standard 1800HMI but has a full-color RGBWW chip with a temprature range of 2,000-10,000K. The technology in this light allows it to also be very color accurate with an official SSI of 89+ (Tungsten) and 86+ (Daylight).

The lamp head weighs in at 18kg / 39.7lbs with the control box adding another 19kg / 41.9lbs.

The Electro Storm XT26 is a Bi-Color light with a temperature range of 2,700-6,500K and an even more impressive output of 2600W that should compete (according to Aputure) with high-end lights such as a 4kW HMI. The light’s color accuracy is not as high but still good with an SSI of 85+ (Tungsten) and 74+ (Daylight).

The lamp head weighs in at 18kg / 39.7lbs with the control box adding another 20kg / 41.9 lbs which is impressive considering how much power it can manage (it does use advanced liquid-cooling technology which is essential to cool this beast down).

Both lights are also interesting when it comes to their mount. They are (as far as we know the only lights which natively support dual mounts – both a standard Bowens mount and also a new A-mount that includes a new proprietary electronic connector (much like what we have seen last year from Godox).

Both lights are IP65 dust & water-resistant and have advanced controlling options built-in including Sidus Link app support, wireless DMX with LumenRadio TimoTwo CRMX chipset, Art-net & sACN using etherCON and 16-bit 5-Pin DMX512 In & Out which should cover more or less any type of professional control you might need on set.

F14 Fresnel and Spotlight Max

Besides the two new lights, there are also two very interesting accessories that are designed to work with Aputure’s high-powered new lights (as well as some existing lights).

The first is a new huge 14″ Fresnel which comes in the new A-mount and includes a built-in motor that can change from an 18-45 degrees beam from the Fresnel or via the app remotely/DMX.

The F14 weighs in at 13kg/28lbs, and comes in a case with a detachable yoke, barn doors, and a safety chain.

Spotlight Max uses a Bowens mount so it has a lot more compatibility but unlike the existing Aputure Spotlight, it is optimized for very high-powered lights from 600W all the way to the new 2600W. It can accept 3 lenses (19, 36 and 50 degrees) and uses A-size gobos.
