Hollyland recently announced a new wireless intercom headset named the Hollyland Solidcom C1 Pro which supports full-duplex, operates in the 1.9GHz band with a 1100′ / 350m range, and built-in noise cancellation.
Hollyland Solidcom C1 Pro
Intercom Headsets are important tools for production crews who need to communicate on set without shouting and sometimes over distances or between walls. While hand-held wireless communicators can be useful, they are often impractical when you need to operate a camera or a drone or change focus remotely. Headsets on the other hand are much more manageable even while working with gear in both hands.
Last year Hollyland introduced the original Solidcom C1 headset system which shares many design and technical features with the Pro version introduced this month there are some important differences.
The first difference is quite minor. Officially the none Pro version has a range of 1000′ / 304.8 m while the new Pro version can reach up to 1100′ / 350 m. Both however use Digital DECT 6 (1.9 GHz) wireless technology and both are Full-Duplex systems.
The most important difference between the original and the new model is the addition of ENC or Environmental Noise Cancellation. When activated ENC helps to reduce ambient or background noises which can be important for hearing on the other side.
This is a much-requested feature although it will undoubtedly have its limitations in an extremely noisy environment.
