During IBC 2023 Digitalfoto showcased its latest Thanos line Steadicam system called the Digitalfoto Thanos ProCine. This unit is designed for extremely heavy rigs including large cinema cameras and lenses and their accessories.
Digitalfoto THANOS-line
In the past several years Digitalfoto became known for its Thanos line of Steadicam systems which currently includes the Lightweight Pro II designed for mirrorless cameras and the larger PROX designed for larger video cameras (such as the FX6).
During IBC 2023 Digitalfoto showcased a third member of the Thanos family designed for full-size Cine rigs and heavy camera setups including Alexas, Reds, etc. called the Thanos ProCine.
Digitalfoto THANOS-PROCINE
The Thanos ProCine can carry and help stabilize a much havier payload of up to 35KG/77lbs which should fit more or less any existing cinema camera rig (let’s face it if you want to have your Steadicam operator to carry more than this for any prolonged period of time you should also hire a chiropractor for your production).
The Thanos ProCine is not just larger and can carry more weight but it is also more advanced and has a thicker and more robust structure with electronics running up and down the center rod with a large number of power and data connections both above and below.
You have the option to connect two v-mount batteries as well as another one below the bottom plate, a place to mount a 7″monitor, padding for the locking part, and a new larger and more padded vest to carry the extra weight of the new system.
Pricing and availability
When it comes to pricing, the Digitalfoto THANOS-PROCINE is currently selling for $4900.
