Portkeys LH7P and Portkeys BM7 II DS Monitors (IBC 2023) New 7" monitors

During IBC 2023 we visited the Portkeys booth and looked at several products including two 7″ monitors – the Portkeys LH7P and Portkeys BM7 II DS.

Portkeys LH7P Monitor

The first of the two monitors is the LH7P. This affordable 7″ monitor has a peak brightness of 1000 nits, 1080p resolution with 1000:1 contrast, and a built-in wireless module for real-time video eye focus function (including wireless touch control for several popular Sony cameras).

A single NP-F battery powers the unit and is very light at only 245g but still has HDMI in and out USB-A for firmware updates and DC (7-24V) for alternative powering.

The unit has a touch screen which can be disabled from a switch at the top which also includes 4 programable buttons.

Portkeys BM7 II DS Monitor

The Portkeys BM7 II DS is the most recent monitor in Portkeys popular professional BM series (we have been using the Portkeys BM5 II for several years). The Portkeys BM7 II DS brings in some interesting improvements including a 2200 Nits panel with 85% P3 Wide color gamut.

Like the rest of the BM family, the monitor supports both SDI and HDMI and in this case, there are two SDI in and one SDI out as well as HDMI in and out (with HDMI IN/SDI Loop Out with LUT&Freeze Frame).

The Portkeys BM7 II DS has a rugged metal build for heat dissipation (and two fan speeds), it has two NP-F battery slots (with a hot swap option), and a weight of 445g.

Just like the Portkeys LH7P the BM7 II DS also includes camera control and a touch screen (with hardened glass screen), factory color calibration, a split screen option, Tilta Nucleus N/M motor control option, and more.
