The Secret to Perfect Butterfly Lighting in Portraits

On this quick CreativeLIVE video, photographer Mark Wallace takes a look at a very important type of lighting for portraits known as butterfly lighting.

Wallace shows how he set up his gear to create the butterfly lighting which comes from above the model and creates a small shadow below the nose of the model. We have looked at butterfly lighting several times in the past including on  Joe Brady’s video “How to Create Amazing Portraits with Continuous Light” and Ed Verosky’s video A Look at the Five Main Portraiture Lighting Patterns.
