On this video tutorial Aaron Nace from Phlearn demonstrates how to automatically remove object from images using Adobe Photoshop.
There are many times when you want to remove different objects from a series of images (say you are trying to take a picture of a building and people keep moving around it all the time). Now, for the purpose of this tutorial Nace does mention that you will need images that were taken on a tripod.
Nace starts with demonstrating how this whole thing is done manually before moving to automate this process. The manual version uses the file>scripts>load files into stack. Using a layer mask you can remove objects (simply erase what you don’t want in your image using a black brush). This is a cool way but it isn’t perfect.
Now there is a new way pf doing things – automatically. Go to file>scripts>statistics. Choose Median – choose the images and check attempt to automatically align. Now you sit back and let Photoshop do all the work. This is very very cool method for architectural photographer in bust places – just take as many images as you can on a tripod – go back to Photoshop and let it remove all the people/cars etc. that you don’t want in your picture how simple is that?
