Photography Technology Explained: Phase Detection and Cross-Type Focusing Points

On this video our friend and colleague photographer Matthew Gore (from lightandmatter) takes an interesting look at the way phase detection technology works. Gore takes a look at cross types focusing points and how they differ from the more basic focus points and finally looks at a completely different topic – the use of the term reflex to describe Sony’s SLT cameras (such as the A77/A99 etc.).

We also encourage you to take a look at Matthew Gore’s other videos and we are waiting eagerly for his next one.
