NAB 2023 is ongoing in Vegas and many manufacturers are sharing new products for the first time. RØDE released an entire range of new products for the show with a great deal of emphasis on streaming and mobility as well as some interesting firmware updates.
RØDECaster Duo
Think about the RØDECaster Duo as a mini RØDECaster Pro II (a unit that we use every day and love which just got an interesting firmware update – see below). It is basically identical to its bigger brother but has a smaller size and dual XLR instead of 4 with fewer buttons, sliders, and wheels for control.
Besides these changes, it still has the same great built-in preamps with APHEX audio processing dual USB-C ports, two XLR combo ports, two line-out channels, ethernet, and two headphone outputs.

Streamer X
This unit is even more compact with a single XLR input and two HDMI ports (in and pass-through) and is designed primarily for streamers. it has no monitor or sliders but it has two knobs and 8 large lit buttons. Internally it uses the same built-in preamps with APHEX audio processing as the rest of the new RØDE units as well as a video capture card for streaming a video signal (4K30p, 2K60p, 2K120p, and up to 4K60p).

RØDE PodMic USB
This is the second generation PodMic from RØDE and it has the same dual connectivity of analog XLR and digital USB-C that you can find in RØDE’s NTI 5th Gen microphone.
The mic features a studio-grade pop filter, built-in Revolution preamp, and an advanced analog-to-digital converter as well as signal processing through APHEX processing unit.
The RØDE PodMic USB features a zero-latency headphone output and it supports all of the relevant RØDE software including RØDE Central, RØDE Connect, RØDE Capture, and UNIFY.

RØDECaster Backpack
This one is a little strange but RØDE decided to release a backpack designed specifically for the RØDECaster series and its accessories such as mics cables and arms (and even a laptop). If you find yourself having to transport your audio gear a lot for productions and streaming this might come in handy.

Wireless GO II Charging Case
If you have been using the Wireless GO II mics you know that storing and charging can be a little annoying with 3 different USB-C cables. There have been all sorts of solutions including USB-C split cables and some third-party case chargers.
Now there is an official charger case from RØDE that can fit 3 units and has a built-in battery that is said to be good for up to 30 hours (reading some of the issues people were having with 3’rd party charging cases you might want to consider going with the original one).

Rødecaster Pro II Firmware update
Besides hardware, there is also an important software update for existing Rødecaster Pro II users. The unit can now connect wirelessly to any RØDE Series IV wireless transmitter – including Wireless GO II plus and the new WirelessME making it even simpler to use with wireless mics.
