How to Create a Signature Watermark in Lightroom

On this video tutorial Aaron Nace from Phlearn demonstrates how to create a watermark of your personal signature to add to your images automatically in Lightroom.

First of all don’t be alarmed – Nace didn’t turn into a whining little boy, it is just the new intro from Phlearn. Now that we have this cleared, let’s dive into the video. Now, interestingly, Nace choose to start the preparation in Photoshop including getting the actual signature (see the video below). After we have our signature we need to save it in a PNG format so that it will save the transparency(remember JPEG don’t support transparency).

Next we get into Lightroom and go into lightroom>edit watermarks. Here we go into image options and add our PNG signature. You can also choose where you want to place the signature in the image. Now you need to save this as a new preset – in this way you will be able to use it quickly in the future.

Finally we will export our images with the newly made watermark. You will select all the images and right click on one of them – choose export>export. Here in watermarking you will need to choose your new preset and where to save the images. And that is about it.

We have looked at different ways to create a watermark in both Photoshop and Lightroom (some more in depth than this video), Nace himself did a video on adding a watermark in Photoshop entitled “The Best Way to Watermark Your Images in Photoshop“, we also looked at “Creating Watermarks in Lightroom 5” by Mark Wallace, a different look at the same thing on “How to Add a Watermark in Lightroom 5” with Howard Pinsky and “Creating a Watermark in Photoshop – A Quick Tutorial” by Jen Swedhin.
