How to Use the Move Tool in Photoshop

On this super quick video, portrait photographer Nathaniel Dodson (from the website tutvid), looks at on of the supposedly simple tools in Photoshop – the move tool and shows some of the less known features of this tool.

Besides moving things, Adobe gives us different alignment options, transform controls and the ability to select a layer or a group of layers. One more important feature is the ability to select a specific layer on the layer panel which will be shown on the image side as selected (this is very important when working with a very large number of layers where some items might be obscured by others.

This isn’t the first time we looked at the move tool in Photoshop. On this video, Photoshop expert Howard Pinsky, demonstrates how to move a subject in a photo in a realistic way.
