How to Use the Patch Tool to Remove Objects from Images in Photoshop

On this video tutorial Aaron Nace from Phlearn demonstrates how to use the patch tool which is one of the best tools Photoshop for removing objects from your images.

The patch tool allows you to remove relatively large objects from an image easily. There are a few options on the top bar of the patch tool (the patch tool itself can be found as a secondary tool on the spot healing brush tool – just right click and choose it).

Nace prefers the normal mode over the content aware mode which seems to work better. We agree and we also feel that the patch tool is good for very particular cases – typically things which are distinct from the background. When you have something which is mixed with the background the patch tool will typically not be as effective.
