Peter Hurley: Just Squinch

A few weeks ago pro photographer Peter Hurley published this video (which became an immediate hit online). The idea was simple – teach a photographers (and any potential subject of a photograph) how to take a better image by squinching.

What is squinching? well you will probably not find this word in any dictionary (not yet at least) but it is a simple “trick” you do with your eyes which according to Hurley should make you look better in any photo. We think that it can help but its right for a very specific type of portraits (we find it very hard to squinch and smile for example). So if this type of look is what you are going for – by all means use it, but remember that there are other ways as well.
