Tips for Setting Up a Home or Office Studio

In this video, photographer Jay P. Morgan (from the Slanted Lens) takes a look at how you can create a great studio at home with low budget equipment without compromising on the result.

Morgan’s first tips has to do with the colors of the walls, the floor – make sure you have a neutral color if you don’t paint it in a neutral color. Morgan than moves to the backdrop and shows how you can

Than we move to talk about lights – Morgan talks about the most basic lights you can but and explains how you can create a softbox (he actually suggests 3 different methods for doing that with some interesting results).

Non of these are professional solutions and if you have the ability to buy dedicated gear you should do so, but for a home or office solution on a budget or for photographers who are just getting the hang of things and don’t want to spend too much money – these options will do the job.
