HDSLR: Introduction to Shooting in Log

On this AdoramaTV video photographer Rich Harrington takes a look at how to capture log footage using the new Blackmagic Design Production 4K Camera.

Shooting log video gives you at least some of the flexibility of shooting RAW video but without dealing with the very demanding requirements of actually shooting RAW (including very large files). Truly understanding log isn’t a simple matter – Andy Shipsides (from abelcine blog) has some interesting comments on the matter (he talks specifically about log on the Canon C300) but you can use some of these concepts on other cameras as well.
