A Look at Really Right Stuff’s Tiny, Super Strong Multi-Clamp

We love our clamps, large, small and in all sorts of different shapes – they are extremely useful tools for any photographer. U.S. accessory manufacturer Really Right Stuff recently unveiled a tiny, compact clamp that can easily hold a camera and attach itself easily to almost any round or flat surface such as poles, fences, tables, and more.

On this video Spencer from RRS demonstrates how the new Multi-Clamp can easily attach to different surfaces. There are many situations where we can’t or just don’t want to use our tripod (for example lots of places these days simply do not allow tripods but have no ban on actually taking pictures with your camera).

This RRS Multi-Clamp (formerly known as Safari Clamp) is made out of a solid blocks of 6061-T6 aluminum and stainless steel. The unit can securely mounts to any round stock up to 3.5 inches (89mm), or if you prefer you can add the optional Flat Surface Adapters to mount to any flat surface up to 2.4 inches (63mm) in thickness.

The Multi-Clamp has no less than 5 (!) mounting holes for different items or positions – four 3/8″-16 threaded holes, and one ¼”-20 threaded hole and it comes with a 3/32″ hex key for installation.

The RRS Multi-Clamp weight 8.1oz / 230g and cost $120 ($160 with the flat surface adapter).

We shall soon start a series of reviews looking at different clamps and we are hoping that we will be able to include the  Multi-Clamp as well.
